I.am.SO.sore.

but ECSTATIC that I finished the race in a respectable time: 2:06:03. I ran the entire distance with an average pace of 9:38 and came in the top third of my age division (even with stopping for potty breaks). It really was so much fun, and kudos to Jenna for giving me that push to run my first 1/2 marathon because I would have never done it without her . . . the crowds, music, and constant chatter along the route actually made the race enjoyable. However, that last mile was the longest mile I have ever run in my entire life - Kathryn, you were right - my legs were begging for mercy and today I'm paying for it . . . my quads and calves are burning!

Now I really want to run another 1/2 and see what my time might be if I actually train for it beforehand. Who wants to meet me in Moab next march for their annual marathon - any takers?? It's much more fun when you run with friends :-).

You are awesome, Julie!! {-:

I don't think I would be able to even move if I ran a 1/2 marathon without any training, but more likely I would never finish it... }-:

Way to go! I'm impressed, and not so sure I could keep up with you if you train! The Moab half is gorgeous, although training on the icy roads has kept me from doing it for years. I want to find one in the Fall.

Ouch! Hope you are doing okay. Thanks again for a wonderful visit; we had so much fun! The kiddos are already really missing you. I would totally do the Moab 1/2 with you but it's right before Boston...However, you'll be in primo condition for St. George that Fall (Oct. 2010)...shall I put that on my calendar????
Love ya--Jen

Julie,
We have a 1/2 and full marathon here in Mesa in November - come run it with me! It is at night too! Fun! I am excited to train for the 1/2. I'm still too scared to commit to a marathon, but I feel my opposition slipping away!

Impressive. Not surprised though. You are the energizer bunny, after all.

You rock!! Especially since you didn't even train and weren't feeling good right before. Did it anyway - and finished with good time. I am so impressed!
